As our animal friends age, pain is one of our top concerns. It is paramount that our pets do not suffer large amounts of pain as they age, deal with disease and prepare for death. Animals can do a wonderful job of covering up their pain. I have many options I can offer you to help alleviate any pain an animal may be dealing with, including medication, acupuncture, massage done by the owner, life style changes etc. Feel free to give me a call and we can discuss how your pet is doing and what can be done to improve their life quality.
Some signs your pet is experiencing pain:
- Panting all the time, even when not hot.
- Grinding of teeth (this is seen more in large animals, but can be present in small animals as well).
- Vocalizes – if you pet cries out when touched or when petting.
- Change in mobility – limping, slow getting up or down.
- Pet paces a lot and can’t seem to get comfortable.
